Quantcast

My name is Alex and I am living in Barcelona for more than 10 years now. I have worked as many things (waiter, translator, web designer, photo-shop teacher, help-desk analyst, etc.), but it looks like my path is going in the Technical Consultancy direction.

pcibmpcI have been working with computers for about 20 years now. I started playing with an old and big IBM machine. A big, big box like the one on the picture, with another big box on top, which was a hard drive. On that machine I started playing with BASIC. From that I have always been interested by almost every aspect of computers. Operating Systems, Graphical Design, Networks, Internet, and so on.

Currently I am working for Computacenter Iberia, where I am a Systems Development Consultant. A position that manages internal and external projects, gives technical advise and builds solutions for both internal and external customers.

Lately at work, I have been working on projects like:

- Different Lotus Domino application design projects (Quality Measurement tools, Workflows, etc)

- SharePoint Site Planning, Management and Development Projects

- Planning Software Implementation

- Knowledge Management

- Process Authoring and Review

While at home, I have been busy with things like:

- Building small tools, like the live football betting excel sheet explained elsewhere in this Blog or small Google maps applications.

- Photography, Both digital, analogue and very analogue.

- Watch (mainly) Sci-fi series and movies

Currently I am trying to find time to study for the MCTS .NET Framework Web applications certification, while I work on this Blog.

On this blog, I will try to give an idea on all these things I am currently working on, at work and my private projects and interesting things I find online and might be too hidden for people to find them.

These are articles I have been writing about my experiences with running this blog:

Strange or suspicious comments will most likely be picked up by the spam filter. You can avoid this by not entering strange links, that strangely point to strange places that try to sell you strange pills and such.
